Stunt master Thriller Manju is orchestrating a high-octane action sequence for Vijay Raghavendra's upcoming film, On Duty. The project, which also features actor-filmmaker Krishna Sai as the other lead, is helmed by writer-director Sanjeev Megoti.

Sanjeev, who has penned over 45 television serials and directed films like Police Complaint, returns to Kannada cinema after a 12-year gap. Reflecting on the core theme, the filmmaker shares, “Duty isn’t merely about an official uniform or a professional post. Every individual stays ‘on duty’ around the clock for their family, whether a mother, spouse, or child. The title explores that deep emotional accountability. We have wrapped over 75 per cent of the talkie portions, with three action set-pieces and the songs remaining.”

For Vijay Raghavendra, the script's thematic balance proved to be the clincher. “The story struck an immediate chord because my character is unlike anything I have tackled recently,” the actor explains. “Beyond the action sequences with Thriller Manju sir, it’s a reunion of sorts; I am sharing screen space with Vinaya Prasad ma'am nearly 20 years after Ganesha Matte Banda. That dynamic brings a grounded emotional core to the thriller framework.”

Talking about his character, Krishna Sai notes, “The story revolves around two contrasting archetypes, Surya and Chandra, testing their endurance under pressure.”

With cinematography by Harish, music by Aarohana Sudheendra, and editing by Renuka Babu, On Duty also stars Smruthi Venkatesh, Bhavana Chandra, and Anvika.
