A legendary on-screen creative partnership that once defined an entire era of Kannada cinema is set for a grand celebration in Bengaluru. The iconic duo of Crazy Star Ravichandran and Naada Brahma Hamsalekha will be honoured together at a mega reunion event titled Crazy–Brahma, scheduled for May 30 at JK Grand Arena near Kengeri.
The event will not just be a felicitation, but as a nostalgic return to a golden creative phase that once shaped Kannada cinema’s musical identity. The Ravichandran–Hamsalekha combination, which ruled the 80s and 90s for nearly 16 years, delivered a stream of superhit films and unforgettable songs—from Premaloka onwards—many of which continue to echo across generations.
Adding to the significance, the event coincides with Ravichandran’s birthday, making the celebration even more symbolic for fans and the film fraternity alike.
The organisers unveiled a massive 80-foot cutout celebrating the duo, instantly turning the venue into a visual tribute to their legacy.
Speaking at a recent press interaction, Ravichandran reflected on the bond, describing their collaboration as inseparable in spirit. He noted that their work together produced hundreds of memorable songs that remain relevant even today. While they may not be actively collaborating on films now, he emphasised that mutual respect has never faded. In his characteristic style, he remarked that he and Hamsalekha feel like “two lives in one body,” adding that fans would naturally turn up for the celebration without needing a formal invitation.
Hamsalekha, in turn, called the event more than just a programme—it is a milestone moment. He described Ravichandran as someone who was once a 'dreamer' and is now an 'exceptional communicator,' highlighting the transformation and journey of the star over the years. He also praised the promotional build-up, including the cutouts and social media teasers, saying they have captured the spirit of the reunion effectively.
Organiser Vinay confirmed that the four-hour evening event will begin at 6 pm and feature participation from several leading names of the Kannada film industry. Around 8,000 attendees are expected, with tickets available via BookMyShow. He also made a special appeal to fans, noting that the stage will be strictly off-limits and requesting them not to bring garlands, cakes, or shawls.
