Rukmini Vasanth slams AI-generated photos of her, warns of legal and cybercrime action

A day after AI-generated images of Rukmini Vasanth had gone viral on social media, triggering curiosity, debate and speculation among users, the actor has now shared a statement calling it "deeply irresponsible and a serious violation of privacy."

Taking to her Instagram stories, she confirmed that the images are "entirely fake and fabricated" while warning about initiating legal and cybercrime action action against those involved in creation and circulation of such manipulated content.

"We are taking this matter seriously and initiating the necessary legal and cybercrime action against those involved in creating and spreading these images. Requesting everyone to refrain from sharing or engaging with such content," she wrote.

The news comes at a time when the actor is already in the spotlight for her growing film career.

Last year, the actor was seen in a key role in Rishab Shetty's Kantara: Chapter 1 that propelled her fame. She also played the female lead in Sivakarthikeyan-AR Murugadoss' Tamil action film Madharaasi.

Up next, she has the much-awaited Toxic alongside Yash which is yet to secure a release date. She stars alongside an ensemble cast including Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, and Tara Sutaria in the Geetu Mohandas-directorial. Rukmini recently grabbed attention with her appearance in the teaser of Dragon, starring Jr NTR and directed by Prashanth Neel.
