Children's films have become increasingly rare in Kannada cinema. Hoping to fill that gap is Ambara Gudda, an adventure drama that revolves around a group of schoolchildren whose excursion takes an unexpected turn. Directed by Vishnu Teja, the film is set to release on June 26.

The recently launched trailer introduces viewers to a group of innocent children who set off on a school trip to Ambara Gudda. What begins as a day of excitement soon turns into a fight for survival when they lose their way in a dense forest. Cut off from help and surrounded by unfamiliar terrain, the children must confront a series of challenges, relying on courage and teamwork to make their way through.

Vishnu Teja, who has written, directed and produced the film, also plays a key role. Speaking about the experience of making the film, he said shooting in the forest with a large group of children came with its own set of challenges.

"Bringing together so many children and shooting in a dense forest was an adventure in itself. Managing their energy and keeping everything on track was not easy. During the shoot, my daughter, who plays one of the important child characters in the film, was bitten by a snake. We immediately got her treated and resumed filming only after she had recovered," he said.

The film features a cast of young actors including Tanisha Gowda, Khushi Gowda, Geetha, Chandru and Ganesh. The children, many of whom are making their screen debut, said filming in forests during the rains was challenging but gave them a memorable experience.

Ambara Gudda has been shot across picturesque locations including the Kollur Mookambika reserve forest near Kundapura, Shivamogga, Kodachadri hills and the beaches of Gokarna. With music by Akash Parva and cinematography is by Deepak Kumar.
