What happens when the hunger for viral fame pushes someone into truly dangerous territory? That question sits at the heart of Chethan Shetty's directorial debut Seat Edge, a horror comedy thriller that marks Siddu Moolimani’s return to the big screen after Love You Muddu. With the film set to release on January 30, the makers have dropped the trailer, offering a peek into a world where content creation, romance, and the supernatural collide with unsettling consequences.

Siddu plays a young YouTube vlogger who is tired of being mocked online and dismissed as just another wannabe creator. His videos, instead of fetching admiration, end up as fodder for troll pages. At the same time, his personal life begins to unravel when a mistake leads to a painful breakup. Caught between the need to prove himself professionally and the desire to win back the woman he loves, he takes a drastic call, to shoot a ghost-hunting video in an abandoned town that locals avoid even in daylight.

The trailer suggests that what begins as a daring content stunt slowly spirals into a tense survival story, blending eerie moments with bursts of dark humour. Staying true to the film’s theme, the trailer was launched by popular Kannada vloggers, reinforcing its sharp commentary on the lengths creators go to in order to stay relevant in the digital race.

For Siddu, Seat Edge is a significant shift in image. It is his first time playing a vlogger and stepping into a space that mixes psychological tension with comic timing. “It is an out-and-out suspense thriller for me,” the actor said while speaking about the film, adding that the thrill lies in whether his character actually pulls off the ghost hunt, regains his lost love, or pays a heavy price for chasing online fame.

Raviksha Shetty plays the female lead, portraying a middle-class college student who becomes part of this ill-fated adventure. Her character is not just a romantic anchor but also someone who reflects the emotional cost of reckless decisions. Calling the role layered, she said the film gave her the chance to explore two different emotional shades, while also being part of a narrative packed with romance, comedy, music, and suspense.

Produced by Giridhar T Vasanthapura under the NR Cinema Productions banner, the film has been shot across Bengaluru, Mysuru, Shivamogga, and Chikkamagaluru over a tight 45-day schedule. The makers have paid special attention to CGI and visual effects to enhance the horror elements, while keeping the narrative grounded in everyday emotions.

The supporting cast includes Raghu Ramanakoppa, Girish Shivanna, Mimicry Gopi, Lakshmi Sidayya, Kiran, Puneeth Babu, Teju Ponnappa, and Manmohan Rai in pivotal roles.
