Amid debates over ticket pricing and regional sensitivities, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, who had his latest film, OG releasing last week, has become a sensible voice. In a tweet that quickly went viral, he stated, “An artist truly understands the value of art,” adding that cinema should unite people, not divide them. He pointed out that when tensions rise between states, languages, or cultures, art can bridge differences and bring people closer.

Pawan Kalyan’s comments come before the release of Rishab Shetty’s Kantara: Chapter 1, which will hit theatres worldwide on October 2. The film promises an epic experience and has generated discussions about ticket pricing. Following Karnataka’s decision to implement uniform ticket rates, Kantara’s producers, Hombale Films, sought legal approval to sell tickets at higher prices; this decision has now extended to Andhra Pradesh with government support.

In light of these controversies, Pawan Kalyan publicly endorsed the film. He mentioned that cinema should connect audiences rather than cause conflicts over language or region. He noted the long-standing cultural exchange between Telugu and Kannada cinema, citing iconic artists like Dr Rajkumar, Upendra, Sudeep, and Rishab Shetty. Kalyan called on both industries to work together to resolve their differences, ensuring that audiences can enjoy films without unnecessary disputes.

The Deputy CM also encouraged fans to appreciate good art while setting aside misconceptions. He praised Kantara: Chapter 1 as a film is done to provide a grand, immersive experience. He stressed that cinema’s purpose is to bring joy, inspiration, and shared cultural experiences to viewers.

As Kantara: Chapter 1 prepares to hit screens in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, the film’s success now carries a broader message: celebrating creativity and coming together through cinema.
