The buzz is growing louder around Chowkidar, the much-anticipated family drama featuring Pruthvi Ambaar and Dhanya Ramkumar. The film has just cleared the censor board with a U/A certificate, and early word suggests it’s another family entertainer.

Members of the board have given a rare nod of appreciation, praising the film for its emotional storytelling and strong performances. What’s drawing particular attention is veteran actor Sai Kumar, who marks 50 years in cinema with a role that insiders say is one of his most heartfelt in recent times. His screen presence has been described as “endearing and commanding,” with the kind of gravitas only a seasoned actor can bring.

Directed by Chandrashekar Bandiyappa—best known for the action-packed RathaavaraChowkidar shifts gears into family territory, promising a narrative that blends drama, warmth, and star power. The film is bankrolled by Kallahalli Chandrashekar, with Vidyadevi backing production.

The cast goes beyond its leads, with actor Shwetha (of Premanjali fame) and Sudharani stepping into key roles, adding further weight to the ensemble. With songs and a teaser already creating waves online, the film seems primed to connect with a wide audience.

On the technical side, Chowkidar brings in a dynamic crew: Sachin Basrur delivers the music, Siddu Kanchanahalli handles cinematography, and choreographer Muruli Master brings energy to the dance numbers. Lyrics are penned by V Nagendra Prasad, Pramod Maravante, and Santosh Naik, while Gnanesh Matad and Jai Subrahmanya oversee editing and action sequences respectively.

Planned as a multilingual release, Chowkidar aims to cross boundaries and cater to a larger market. With censor approval now in place, the team is gearing up to announce its release date—keeping audiences waiting just a little longer before the big reveal.
