The prequel to Rishab Shetty’s 2022 breakout hit Kantara is already making headlines ahead of its release with fastest trailer shared in 24 hours. Titled Kantara Chapter 1, the film is scheduled to open across Indian theaters on October 2, 2025.

The project has generated strong anticipation following its trailer drop, which showcased the film’s large-scale production, extensive crew involvement, and high technical ambition.

In a rare move underscoring the film’s cultural footprint, the Indian Postal Department has released a special commemorative postal cover and picture postcard featuring imagery from the movie. The unveiling took place ahead of the official media briefing, with department representatives Sandesh Mahadev and HM Mahesh presenting the collectibles. Both officials spoke of their pride in associating with a project of such scope and cultural relevance, extending their best wishes to the team.

Along with producer Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale Films, and director-actor Rishab Shetty, the event also had several key members of the crew, including stunt director Arjun Ramu, dance director Bhushan Kumar, editor Suresh Mallaiah, costume designer and Rishab's wife, Pragathi Shetty, art director Dhanraj, writers Shaneel Gautham and Anirudh Mahesh, and female lead actor Rukmini Vasanth.
