Gulshan Devaiah appears to be in zen mode of late, following the tremendous success of his film Kantara: Chapter 1, co-starring Rishab Shetty and Rukmini Vasanth, among others. The other day, the actor responded to an internet user criticising his portrayal of a king's character in the epic Kantara prequel. A while ago, another user asked Gulshan to correct reporters from other states who pronounce Kannada as Kannad and mispronounce Kantara. Responding to the user, Gulshan wrote, "It’s OK, native Kannada speakers also mispronounce words in other languages. Personally I don’t think it’s a big deal… unless it’s deliberate to mock or to insult. In my personal opinion our unity also means we accept such minor things that are no way meant to hurt or demean."

In a recent conversation with The Hindu, Gulshan said that he was uncomfortable with social media when he started exploring it for the first time. The actor also shared that he now uses social media "as an authentic reflection of" himself.
