Rishab Shetty’s Kantara: Chapter 1, which he both directed and starred in, has become a landmark in Kannada cinema. Released on October 2, the film set new box office records. Recently, Rishab shared images of his own feet on social media—a simple yet striking testament to the effort and dedication behind the film.
“This was during the climax shoot, a swollen leg, an exhausted body… but today, the climax has become something that millions watch and admire. This was only possible through the blessings of the divine energy we believe in. Heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported us,” wrote Rishab, explaining the physical and emotional demands of the shoot.
For three years, Rishab and his team worked tirelessly to bring Kantara: Chapter 1 to life. Every step tested endurance and focus. The images show feet marked by bruises and fatigue, proof of long hours on difficult terrain and demanding schedules necessary to capture the film’s authentic essence.
The climax shoot pushed Rishab to his limits. Shooting in forest locations, enduring full makeup and restrictive costumes, and trekking long distances, he pressed on despite exhaustion to ensure every frame was perfect. These struggles, from blistered feet to harsh conditions, form the untold story behind the film.
The film stars Rukmini Vasanth alongside Rishab Shetty, with Jayaram and Gulshan Devaiah in strong supporting roles. Kantara: Chapter 1 has cinematography by Arvind Kashyap, and music by AJaneesh Loknath. Produced by Vijay Kiragandur under Hombale Films, the project combines precise visuals, compelling storytelling, and a strong connection to Karnataka’s culture and folklore.
Rishab credits the film’s success not just to his efforts, but to the support and admiration of audiences. The images of his tired yet determined feet stand as a symbol of perseverance, discipline, and the resolve that brought the film to life.
Through these candid images, Rishab Shetty reminds us that behind every compelling cinematic frame lies a story of dedication, patience, and passion waiting to be recognised.
