Actor Suniel Shetty took to social media to praise Kantara: Chapter 1. The film is a prequel to Rishab Shetty's Kantara (2022) and was released on October 2, on the occasion of Dusshera.

On his X handle Suniel wrote, "Last night, Kantara didn’t just move me — it went straight through my veins. Goosebumps, tears, pride, peace… all at once." He added, "I guess – that’s what real cinema does — it makes you feel your roots. This is what Indian cinema is truly about — when it speaks of our soil, our people, our gods… it becomes divine. And as long as we stay true to these stories, there can never be bad cinema."

Speaking about director Rishab Shetty, Suniel said, "Rishab Shetty — and the entire Kantara team — take a bow. Only a man possessed and obsessed with his roots could have created something this powerful."

He concluded the note by writing, "This one will stay with me… for a very, very long time."

Rishab Shetty later responded by writing, "Thank you so much for these beautiful words Suniel Shetty Anna."

Kantara: Chapter 1 has grossed over Rs 509 crores in its worldwide collections after 10 days in the theatre.
