Team Kamal Sridevi turns KR Market into a living canvas with character-driven photoshoot

A Sharadhaa

In a move to blur the lines between reel and real, the team behind Kamal Sridevi took to the bustling heart of Bengaluru, KR Market—for a striking character-based photoshoot. Following the launch of the film’s concept poster and a traditional muhurtha at Bande Mahakali Temple, the streets came alive with glimpses of the film’s world and its people.

Actors Sachin Chaluvarayaswamy, Sangeetha Bhat, and Akshatha Bopayya stepped into their characters—not on set, but amid flower vendors, bangle sellers, fruit stalls, turmeric shops, and rooftop vistas of the iconic market. From rooftops to buses, from alleyways to public squares like Kote Beedi, the shoot unfolded as a moving tableau—scattering marigolds, consulting fortune tellers, and inviting curious stares from everyday passersby.

This was no regular promotional exercise. Photographer Kevin Sherwin Mascarenhas captured moments laced with meaning—like a transgender performer performing a drishti ritual, or an intense gaze exchanged over bangles and blossoms. These were not just scenes, but whispers from the storyline itself.

This was creative head, and coproducer, Rajavardan’s brainchild, said lead actor Sachin Chaluvarayaswamy. “It reflects the emotional and narrative links between Kamal, and the characters played by Sangeetha and Akshatha," he adds.

For Sangeetha Bhat, who hints at a layered role, the experience was immersive. “The shoot mirrors parts of my character. Filming in public, seeing real-time reactions, brought a new kind of energy,” she shared.

Rajavardan explained, “Promotions today must go beyond posters and trailers. People connect with authenticity, with effort they can feel. This was that.”

“There’s a memory and energy in these streets. Once the film releases, the connection between this space, these characters, and the narrative will be clear," explains director, Director VA Sunil Kumar

Produced by BK Dhanalakshmi under the Swarnambika Pictures banner and co-produced by Rajavardan (Barnswallow Company), Kamal Sridevi set for Trilingual release also stars Kishore, Ramesh Indira, and an ensemble.

The film currently in post production will soon announce the release date.
