A source close to Hombale Films told CE that Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire is releasing in theatres again on March 21 in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh first, and that the makers also plan a nationwide release later. The Prashanth Neel directorial stars Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, Easwari Rao, Sriya Reddy, and John Vijay, among others. The film tells the complex story of brotherhood in the modern day connected with that of an ancient empire with multiple clans seeking territorial control. The first part released in December 2023, and as per the makers, its performance on OTT played a part in the decision to release it again theatrically. The source told us that the decision has been made "out of demand."

A second part to Salaar has long been in the discussions, and Prithviraj recently confirmed that he would be part of it. With Prashanth Neel signing on to direct Jr NTR's next film, the Salaar sequel is likely to face a delay. Production on the Prashanth-Jr NTR film is underway in Hyderbad. The action drama has Ravi Basrur as the composer.
