Challenging Star Darshan’s The Devil has crossed the Rs 25 crore mark within its first weekend, marking a solid start at the box office. Backed by strong audience mostly celebrities turnout over the weekend, the film found added momentum on Sunday, benefitting from the holiday advantage. With the film now stepping into its first weekday run, Monday’s collection is being closely tracked and is expected to shape the film’s box office journey in the days ahead.

As per box office sources, The Devil opened to an impressive Rs 13.80 crore on Day 1 and the second day, the film collected around Rs 3.40 crore, followed by Rs 3.80 crore on Day 3. The film maintained steady traction through the weekend, with Sunday bringing in a noticeable push. The fourth day collection crossed Rs 4.25 crore, taking the total weekend earnings over Rs 25 crore mark.

A key factor in the film’s performance has been its commanding presence in single-screen theatres across Karnataka. A large number of single screens dedicated prime slots to The Devil, with early morning and festive shows recording strong footfalls. Darshan’s mass appeal ensured the film stayed firmly placed in these centres, helping it sustain weekend momentum and generate consistent buzz.

With The Devil entering its first Monday (December 15), industry observers see the weekday trend as crucial. The film faces competition from new releases in other languages, including Bollywood’s Dhurandhar and Akhanda 2. Despite the competitive landscape, the film’s strong weekend hold and single-screen support are expected to play a decisive role in its performance going forward.

Produced and directed by Prakash Veer, The Devil features music composed by Ajaneesh Loknath, with cinematography by Sudhakar S. Raj. The film stars Rachana Rai as the female lead and includes Mahesh Manjrekar, Achyuth Kumar, Huli Karthik, Chandu Gowda, Roger Narayan, and Vinay Gowda in pivotal roles.
