A Sharadhaa

The cross-border romance Elumale has cleared the censor board with a U/A certificate — without a single cut or muted dialogue.

Set against the Karnataka–Tamil Nadu border, the film has already piqued interest with its content, and now stands ready for release on September 5. Produced by creative director Tharun Kishore Sudhir, the film has been helmed by filmmaker Puneeth Rangaswamy, who previously made waves with his action sensibilities.

The project also marks the sophomore outing of Raanna, brother of popular actor Rakshita, who made his debut with Ek Love Ya. Starring opposite him is Priyanka Achaar, known for her work in reality show, Mahanati. The ensemble further boasts names like Jagapathi Babu, Nagabharana, Kishore Kumar, Sardar Satya, and Jagappa.

Backed by Tharun Kishore Sudhir with Atlanta Nagendra joining as co-producer, Elumale brings together an experienced crew — Adwit Gurumurthy (cinematography), KM Prakash (editing), dialogues by Nagarjuna Sharma and Puneeth Rangaswamy, and music by D Imman.

The title track, released yesterday, has already struck a chord with audiences. Beginning with the lyrical refrain “Aanu Male, Jenu Male, Kaadu Male, Kaanu Male”, the song carries verses penned by director Puneeth Rangaswamy himself. Sung by VM Mahalingam and powered by D Imman’s score, the track has amplified anticipation for the film.
