Composer Ravi Basrur, known for his scintillating work in the KGF franchise, is also an accomplished filmmaker. After directing films like Garagar Mandala, Kataka, and Girmit, Basrur is gearing up for the release of his next, Kadal.

Billed to be an emotional drama, the film is set to release on May 19. Interestingly, Kadal will have only private screenings, and the composer put a brief video on his YouTube channel explaining this tactic. He also released a teaser and three songs.

Producer NS Rajkumar says, “Releasing the film across the State has been the norm, which has become expensive. Instead, we have been selective about places where we want to release, and the first screening will be in Kundapura on May 19. The ticket is priced at Rs 1000/-, which will be for the entire family who can come and watch the film. Interestingly, we have around 1000  families who will get to watch it in a theatre in the coming week.”

Kadal, starring Saurabh Bhandari and Chirashree Anchan as the leads, is an emotionally charged story with a profound connection to the sea. With the background score by Ravi Basrur himself, the teaser indicates the film is a heartwarming father-son story, which will have cinematography by Sachin Basrur.
