Ajay Rao, who is both the lead actor and producer of Yuddhakaanda has completed 50 per cent of the shooting. The film, directed by Pavan Bhat (Cutting Shop), features Ajay as a lawyer and Suprita Sathyanarayan as the female lead, CE has learned that Hondisi Bareyiri actor, Archana Jois has also joined the lead cast.

Ajay confirms the news, however, refraining from sharing details about the role. “Archana Jois has a significant role in our film, and she was chosen for Yuddhakaanda right at the scripting stage, because of her role and performance in KGF.

Ajay reveals that he hasn’t put a cap on the budget or the number of shooting days. “We took four days for just one shot. Each time, something went wrong, but we did not give up until we got the right shot. This wouldn’t have been possible if this was handled by another producer.”

Ajay plans to resume shooting for the film in the middle of June, with almost 90 per cent of the movie set in Bengaluru.

Yuddhakaanda, which borrows its title from a 1989 film starring Ravichandran, has music by KB Praveen and cinematography by Karthik Sharma. Meanwhile, Ajay also has another project with Manju Swaraj which is in its last schedule, and it will resume in the third week of May.
