We had earlier reported that Sharan was set to star in a serious role in director Aravind Kuplikar's next.

The director has brought onboard Badava Rascal heroine Amrutha Iyengar as the female lead of the film.

Amrutha has an interesting lineup of films including Abbabba and Dhananjay’s 25th film, Hoysala.

“I was looking for a girl with a homely look and felt Amrutha fit the bill. She will be playing the role of a journalist in the film,” says the director.

Apart from Sharan and Amrutha, the yet-to-be-titled film will also star Achyuth Kumar, Rangayana Raghu, and Raju Talikote in prominent roles.

The project has Advaitha Gurumurthy handling the cinematography and Arjun Janya scoring the music.
