KGF: Chapter 2 opens to phenomenal numbers, official box office reports out

KGF: Chapter 2 hit screens worldwide on Thursday amidst tremendous hype. The hype has reflected on the box office numbers as well. As per reports, the film has shattered multiple records on its opening day.

Hombale Films, the production house that backed the film, has officially announced that it has grossed a whopping Rs 134.50 crore from its first day run in India alone. It is the combined gross of the Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi, and Telugu versions.

By grossing Rs 63.66 crores, KGF: Chapter 2 has emerged as the highest ever opener for a Hindi film. Interestingly, it has crossed the lifetime business of KGF: Chapter 1 from its first day run itself. The film was presented in North Indian markets by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment and AA Films.

According to a statement from Excel Entertainment and AA Films, KGF: Chapter 2 "made box office history in various markets becoming the highest ever Day-1 collection for a Hindi film, grossing Rs 63.66 crores, highest ever opening in Karnataka for a Kannada film and highest ever Day 1 collection in Kerala for any Indian film."
