Madhuri Dixit roped in for MSD's cervical cancer awareness drive

The core of MSD's cervical cancer campaign, which features Madhuri Dixit, is said to highlight the importance of preventive measures for cervical cancer

On Wednesday, US-based pharmaceutical company MSD announced that actor Madhuri Dixit Nene will be the phase of its Cervical Cancer campaign. This will be a country-wide campaign across different media.

The core of the campaign is said to highlight the importance of preventive measures for cervical cancer. The campaign also aims to encourage women to speak to their doctors to seek awareness about the various appropriate preventive measures that exists for cervical cancer.

Speaking about the campaign MSD India Region Managing Director Brecht Vanneste said, "Cervical cancer awareness and early consultation are a critical public health priority. Raising awareness about HPV and preventive healthcare can significantly improve long-term health outcomes for women."

Meanwhile Madhuri asserted the importance that awareness plays on cervical cancer treatment and mentioned that this is one of the few instances where awareness campaigns play an important role. A set of five short videos, featuring Madhuri, has been released on the company's online portals.
