Netflix to develop anime adaptation of Gintama creator's Dandelion

Hideaki Sorachi, the creator of the manga series Gintama, made his debut with Dandelion

Netflix recently announced that it will be developing an anime adaptation of Dandelion. The upcoming adaptation is set to premiere in April.

Dandelion was created by Hideaki Sorachi, and was first published in 2002. The series follows Tetsuo Tanba, an operative, and Misaki Kurogane, the leader of the Japanese Angel Federation’s Send-Off Department's 21st Division’s Dandelion Clan.

While the Federation tracks down restless, earthbound spirits and sends them to the after life, Tanba and Kurogane choose another way. They listen to each spirit's regret and helps the spirit to find a solution.

Mataga Daisuke serves as the director of the series, NAZ is behind the animation production. Suzuki Yosuke handles the series composition, Asari Ai has designed the characters, Yuki Hayashi has composed music for the series.

Sorachi's Ginatama was first published in 2003. It consists of 77 volumes. An anime adaptation was first released in 2010.
