Crunchyroll Anime Awards took place the other day at Tokyo's Grand Prince Hotel Shin Takanawa. The two-season series Solo Leveling swept the awards, winning in categories such as Anime of the Year, Best New Series, Best Action, Best Score, Best Main Character (Sung Jinwoo), and Best Ending Sequence. The ninth edition of the award ceremony attracted as many as 51 million voters hailing from over 200 nations. Some consider Solo Leveling's win an upset over the more fancied title Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End. However, Keiichiro Saito won Best Director for his work on Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, which also won Best Drama.

Based on Chugong's web novel, Solo Leveling revolves around a hunter (Jinwoo) who overcomes his weaknesses to turn into humankind's most important weapon. On the other hand, Studio Durian's Look Back won Film of the Year, and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Hashira Training Arc bagged the bragging rights for Best Continuing Series and Best Animation. Lohit Sharma, who voiced in Hindi for characters in films such as John Wick Chapter 4 and Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, won Best Voice Artist Performance (Hindi) for his dubbing work for Satoru Gojo in JUJUTSU KAISEN Season 2.
