Popular Hong Kong singer-actor Aaron Kwok is set to headline director Steven Zhang Zhonghua's comedy-drama titled IOU. It will bring Aaron back together with producer Julia Chu after 2015's Port of Call and 2023's Where the Wind Blows.

As per the makers, the film, inspired from fraudulent fundraising schemes in China, "satirises the selfishness of an interest-driven society." It will star Aaron as a desperate person named Wu who struggles to survive in this social environment. Desperate to pay back his debts in any possible way, Wu keeps two siblings stuck in their Shaanxi house so that he can make their father repay the amount he loaned the man. However, Wu undergoes a transformation thanks to the siblings.

Production on IOU started earlier this March.

Steven Zhang's most popular credits include Hearty Tomato, Home by the River, and The Home in the Tree. On the other hand, Aaron Kwok is best known for Future Cops, Divergence, the two Cold War films, Project Gutenberg, and Port of Call.
