Selena Gomez unveils first-look posters of Jacques Audiard's Emilia Perez

Actor Selena Gomez revealed the premiere date of her much-awaited film Emilia Pérez through social media earlier today. She also unveiled three first-look posters of the film's characters, each of which features herself, Karla Sofía Gascón, and Zoe Saldaña. In the post, Gomez also thanked the film's director Jacques Audiard and revealed that it would have its premiere at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival.

The actor and singer captioned the Instagram post, "I’ve been waiting to show you guys this one!! I’m beyond grateful Emilia Pérez, directed by Jacques Audiard, will premiere at @festivaldecannes in May!"

Emilia Pérez is a Spanish film with a blend of music, comedy, and crime. The film also stars Adriana Paz and Edgar Ramirez. It revolves around Saldaña's lawyer character who gets an unexpected proposal from a cartel boss.

Speaking about the film on the podcast 'Smartless', Gomez said, "I just finished watching Emilia Pérez, this Jacques Audiard directorial, and it’s all in Spanish and it’s a musical and it was one of the most challenging things I’d done."
