Hirokaju Kore-eda's Broker to release in India?

Broker, the South Korean drama directed by Hirokaju Kore-eda, received much appreciation and accolades from audiences. It was released on June 8, 2022, in South Korea. The film was selected to compete for the Palme d'Or at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival, where it was screened and won Ecumenical Jury Award and the Best Actor Award for Song Kang-ho. 

The latest buzz is that the film will have a select theatrical release in India on January 20. However, an official announcement regarding the same is yet to be made.

The film stars Song Kang-ho in the lead role and Gang Dong-won, Bae Doona, Lee Ji-eun and Lee Joo-young, in pivotal roles. Japanese filmmaker Kore-eda is known for his 2018 film Shoplifters, it was received well in India. Broker revolves around people associated with baby boxes, a mission that allows infants to be dropped off anonymously. The mission aims to provide a safe location for children and allows adoption.
