Gael Garcia Bernal's Cassandro trailer is here

Prime Video dropped the trailer of the upcoming biographical drama film Cassandro, starring acclaimed Spanish actor Gael García Bernal as the titular character. Directed by Academy-Award and Emmy -winning director Roger Ross Williams, the upcoming film is based on the life of gay wrestler Saúl Armendáriz, who was a gay amateur wrestler in Texas and later made into international recognition as Cassandra, an exótico luchador ( fighting in drag and exhibits dramatic behaviour).

Cassandro has a script Ross Williams co-wrote with David Teague. The film had its world premiere at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival, and it is gearing up for a release in American theatres on September 15. It will later premiere on Prime Videos on September 22. 

Besides Gael García Bernal, the film stars an ensemble cast, including Saúl Armendáriz, Roberta Colindrez, Perla De La Rosa, Joaquín Cosío, Raúl Castillo, El Hijo del Santo, and Bad Bunny.
