Netflix announced A Part of You, an upcoming Swedish coming-of-age drama. The film is written by Michaela Hamilton and directed by acclaimed author and podcast host Sigge Eklund. It is produced by SF Studios.

According to the makers, A Part of You is a story about life and death that portrays the experience of being 17 years old. "Agnes' older sister Julia possesses everything that Agnes dreams of: she's the coolest person in school, the centre of every party, and she’s dating Noel. If only Agnes could be more like her. When the worst possible thing occurs, Agnes' world is turned upside down and she’s forced to reinvent herself. Suddenly, she's on the verge of obtaining everything she's ever desired, but at what cost?" the plotline reads.

The film marks the directorial debut of Eklund. In a statement, he said,  ”I’ve been waiting my whole life for a screenplay that captures the horror and the magic of being a teenager. When I read Michaela Hamilton’s story I was blown away by the fact that it was all in there. The desperation and the beauty and that sense of urgency that you can only feel when you are 17." Meanwhile, the cast of the film is yet to be announced. A Part of You will go on floors in Sweden later this summer and release globally on Netflix in 2024.
