Crunchyroll releases new trailer for Chainsaw Man, release date announced

Crunchyroll releases a new trailer for the highly anticipated anime series Chainsaw Man. The anime is based on a highly popular manga series of the same name. Written and illustrated by Tatsuki Fujimoto, the manga first appeared in Weekly Shōnen Jump from 2018 to 2020. 

The manga was first confirmed for an anime adaptation in December 2020. MAPPA, known for popular series like JuJutsu Kaisen and Attack on Titan, is reportedly handling the animation for the series. Chainsaw Man will have 12 ending themes with the main voice cast of five people.

According to reports from Crunchyroll, Chainsaw Man will premiere on 19 September. Popular Japanese artists like Ano, Eve, Aimer, Kanaria, QueenBee, and Zutomayo have performed musical numbers for the series.

The official synopsis for the series reads “Denji is a teenage boy living with a Chainsaw Devil named Pochita. Due to the debt his father left behind, he has been living a rock-bottom life while repaying his debt by harvesting devil corpses with Pochita. One day, Denji is betrayed and killed. As his consciousness fades, he makes a contract with Pochita and gets revived as "Chainsaw Man" — a man with a devil's heart.”
