With India being the official 'country of honour' at this edition of Cannes Film Festival, the I&B ministry has released the list of films that will be screened there. 

While these screenings are not part of the official line-up, they will be showcased at Marche' Du Films (Cannes Film Market).

The list includes films like Madhavan's directorial debut, Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, which will have its world premiere at the Palais des Festivals on May 19. 

Other four films that will screened at the Olympia theater are Nikhil Mahajan's Marathi film, Godavari, Shankar Srikumar's Alpha Beta Gamma (Hindi), Biswajeet Bora's Boomba Ride (Mishing), Jayaraj's Tree Full of Parrots (Malayalam), and Achal Mishra's Dhuin (Hindi-Marathi).

The Indian delegation at Cannes will be lead by Union Minister Anurag Thakur. The celebrities walking the red carpet as part of the Indian contingent include AR Rahman, Shekhar Kapur, Akshay Kumar, Nayanthara, Tamannaah, and Pooja Hegde.  

Meanwhile, there will be an Indian film in the competition section of Cannes. Delhi-based filmmaker Shaunak Sen's documentary All That Breathes, will premiere in the Special Screening segment.

Meanwhile, Deepika Padukone is part of the eight-member competition jury of the Cannes Film Festival along with other illustrious names like actor-filmmaker Rebecca Hall and Iranian filmmaker Asghar Farhadi.

India's selection as the country of honour coincides with the 75th year of Independence, the 75th anniversary of France-India diplomatic relations and the 75th year of the Cannes Film Festival.

The 2022 edition of the Cannes Film Festival will end on May 25.
