Squid Game actor Lee Jung-jae to star in spin-off series of his character from Deliver Us From Evil

The pre-production is reported to begin in 2023

Squid Game actor Lee Jung-jae who portrayed the lead role, will be reprising his role as manic killer Ray in the series which is a spin off from the 2020 Korean action horror film Deliver Us From Evil.

According to reports, besides starring, the actor will also co-produce the series under his banner Artist Studio. It is not yet clear if Hive Media who backed Deliver Us From Evil, will be associating with the project.

In the 2020 film, Hwang Jung-min plays a former black ops agent who is on a mission to investigate abduction in Thailand. He is pursued by Lee’s role Ray, who is a Korean-Japanese ruffian whose brother had been killed by In-Nam.

The new series will explore the back story of Ray and it will be shot by cinematographer Hong Kyung-pyo, who has worked in Parasite. The pre-production is reported to begin in 2023.
