Veteran Marathi actor Pradeep Patwardhan dies at 65

He suffered a heart attack on Tuesday morning

Veteran Marathi actor Pradeep Patwardhan died on Tuesday after suffering a heart attack, at his residence in Girgaon, Mumbai, actor Vijay Patkar confirmed.

The actor was 65.

Known for his performances in films like Chashme Bahaddar, Ek Shodh, and Mee Shivajiraje Bhosale Boltoy, the actor suffered a heart attack on Tuesday morning at around 7-8 am and had an history of severe health issues.

Several prominent personalities condoled his death on social media. Actor-director Renuka Shahane tweeted, “Om Shanti Pradeep Patwardhan Heartfelt Tribute.”

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Supriya Sule wrote, “Deeply saddened to hear about the demise of veteran marathi actor Pradeep Patwardhan. Heartfelt condolences. My thoughts and prayers with his family members, fans and followers.”

Patwardhan is survived by his wife and a son. The late actor’s last rites will be conducted at crematorium in Girgaon on Tuesday afternoon.
