We had earlier reported about Bhumi Pednekar starrer OTT series Daldal set for streaming on January 30. On Wednesday, the official trailer of the series was released online.

In Daldal, Bhumi plays DCP Rita Ferreira, who becomes an active investigator for a brutal killing that takes place in Mumbai. However, Rita’s involvement in this case is more personal — it also takes her back to her past that is riddled with trauma and emotional baggage. Rita also ends up locking horns with a rookie reporter Anita (Samara Tijori) who confronts the fierce cop on every misstep. Meanwhile, multiple suspects emerge in the case, include a raging drug addict Sajid (Aditya Rawal).

The trailer also stands out for its use of iconic horror song ‘Gumnam Hai Koi’ which lends an eerie vibe to the brutal violence depicted. Daldal is created by Suresh Triveni, who has written the show in association with Sreekanth Agneeaswaran, Rohan D'souza, and Priya Saggi. Amrit Raj Gupta helms direction for the series. Suresh is also a co-producer for the film, bankrolling the project with Vikram Malhotra under Abunduntia Entertainment banner.

Many prominent names are part of the ensemble cast, like Geeta Agrawal, Rahul Bhat, Jaya Bhattacharya, Chinmay Mandlekar, Ananth Narayan Mahadevan, Vibhawari Deshpande and Pratiek Pachori among others.

Daldal marks Bhumi’s second OTT series after The Royals, which released last year on Netflix.  Set for streaming premiere on Prime Video on January 30, Daldal incidentally releases the same day as Mardaani 3, a theatrical action-thriller, which too is the story of a female cop, headlined by Rani Mukerji.
