CE Features

The trailer for Sooraj Barjatya's new directorial Uunchai was released on Tuesday.

A story of friendship and resilience, the film stars Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher and Boman Irani as three elderly friends who set out to climb Mount Everest to honour the dying wish of their buddy. Amit (Big B), Om (Anupam Kher), Javed (Boman Irani) and Bhupen (Danny Denzongpa) are longtime friends. They catch up over Bhupen's birthday and have a ball. However, everything soon changes as Bhupen passes away. The trailer establishes Bhupen’s wish to take his friends to the Everest Base Camp, wanting to relive his childhood with his friends.

Post Bhupen’s death, the trio   Amit, Om, and Javed decide to take the expedition in his memory. Following intense preparations and geriatric jokes, they drive out for the trip and are joined by Javed's wife played by Neena Gupta. The trailer ends on an inspiring note as we hear strains of Yeh Jeevan Hai, which Amit identifies as Bhupen's favourite song. Uunchai also stars Parineeti Chopra as a trekking guide and Sarika and Nafisa Ali Sodhi in pivotal roles. The film is set to release in theatres on November 11, 2022.
