It’s time to rethink what happened between October 2 and 3. The trailer of Ajay Devgn’s mystery thriller Drishyam 2 was released on Monday. The film and its 2015 prequel are both Hindi remakes of Malayalam originals of the same name starring Mohanlal.

It has been seven years since Vijay Salgaonkar (Ajay) and his family murdered police chief Meera Deshmukh’s (Tabu) son. Now, Akshaye Khanna, a new entrant to the franchise, is a cop who is on the trail of the Salgaonkars. The trailer shows that cops are digging to find the body of Meera’s son and meanwhile they are heckling Vijay’s family to gain a confession. With no evidence in sight, the police team is again clueless. We see Tabu return as the former IGP, vowing to not underestimate the “fourth class fail” Vijay this time.

The film also stars Shriya Saran, Ishita Gupta and Rajat Kapoor.  Drishyam 2 is helmed by Abhishek Pathak and will be released on November 18.

Besides the film, Ajay also has Thank God, Maidaan and Bholaa in the pipeline. He was last seen in Runway 34, which he had also directed. Apart from this, Tabu will be seen in Vishal Bhardwaj’s Khufiya. She was last seen in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 with Kartik Aryan.
