Ranbir Kapoor: Sharmaji Namkeen will always be one of my most fondest memories of my father

Rishi Kapoor's final film Sharmaji Namkeen is releasing on Amazon Prime Video on March 31. Directed by Hitesh Bhatia, the film follows a recently retired man who discovers his passion for cooking after joining a riotous women’s kitty circle.

In a video, Rishi Kapoor's son, Ranbir, spoke about how his father wished to complete the film despite his deteriorating health. His demise in 2020 resulted in the makers trying VFX, even making Ranbir try prosthetics to complete the film but with no luck. It was veteran actor Paresh Rawal who finally stepped in to finish Rishi Kapoor's portions.

Ranbir remembers his father with a phrase saying, “You must have heard ‘The show must go on’, but I’ve seen Papa live his life.” The actor added that, “Sharmaji Namkeen will always be my one of the most fondest memories of my father. Up on screen, bringing a smile to his countless fans."

The trailer for Sharmaji Namkeen drops tomorrow.
