On Guru Dutt's 97th birth anniversary, Pen Movies has dropped the teaser of R Balki's Chup. The 37-second teaser raises the intrigue while introducing the film's lead actors—Dulquer Salmaan, Shreya Dhanwanthary and Sunny Deol. 

In the mildly unsettling teaser, Dulquer, repeatedly humming 'happy birthday', snipes out paper flowers and makes a bouquet. He then presents it to Shreya in the next scene. "Kaagaz Ke Phool (paper flowers) on Guru Dutt's birthday?" she wonders, before adding: "Kaagaz Ke Phool was criticised a lot at the time, na?" 

This is accompanied by a shot of Sunny Deol's face: stern, intimidating. Later, he screams 'Chup' over the film's gilded title, as blood drips from a 3.5-star rating and fills the laurel wreath. 

The teaser ends with the tagline 'Revenge of the Artist' and strains of Waqt Ne Kiya from Kaagaz Ke Phool.
