CE Features

The trailer of Manish Mundra's Siya is out. Inspired by true events, the film depicts the aftermath of a horrific rape and the victim's quest for justice. Pooja Pandey and Vineet Kumar Singh star in this social drama set in the rural North.

In the trailer, which cuts between past and present events, a young girl is abducted, restrained and brutally raped. Her parents approach the authorities but face police apathy. Vineet plays an ordinary lawyer who joins them in the fight for justice.

"SIYA is a story of resilience and grit," Manish, a celebrated producer who's making his directorial debut with film, shares. "It also deals with the hypocrisy behind crimes against women. It is such an important story at a time where these atrocities continue to rise all around the world. I hope SIYA sparks important conversation and dialogue on the subject and that audiences understand the relevance of the film and support it.” Siya will release in theatres on September 16.
