Filmmaker Sanjay Gupta, known for helming Kaante (2002) and Zinda (2006), recently took to X to remember the late actor Feroz Khan, whose birth anniversary was last week on September 25.

In a series of posts on X, Sanjay shared trivia about Feroz’s personality and career. In one of the posts Sanjay spoke about the time when actor Raaj Kumar, infamous for his rude attitude, said something “nasty” about Feroz and how the latter handled him.

“Raaj Kumar, who was known for making fun of anyone in the industry, once tried to say something nasty about him in the lobby of The Oberoi. Feroz Khan just pulled off the actor's wig & the actor did not know how to face the situation & never came across Feroz Khan again,” Sanjay wrote.

In another post, he talked about how Feroz was initially offered the 1976 film Hera Pheri alongside Amitabh Bachchan but the actor refused to do it because he didn’t want to work on Sundays.

“INTERESTING TRIVIA : Prakash Mehra offered Feroz Khan the film Hera Pheri with Amitabh Bachchan. Feroz Khan refused the film as it would require him to work shifts on Sunday. As a rule, Feroz Khan never worked on Sundays. And I thought I was the only one (sic),” he wrote.

In another post, Sanjay called Feroz a “true gentleman” and said he was grateful to all the “those unknown film-makers who gave him breaks” in small films. “TRUE GENTLEMAN - Feroz Khan was very grateful to all those unknown film-makers who gave him breaks in all those small films because he believed he would not have come up without their building a foundation for him,” he wrote.

Feroz Khan is known for films such as Qurbani (1980), Dharmatma (1975), Welcome (2007) and Aadmi Aur Insaan (1970). He died in 2009 at the age of 69.
