Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia starrer fantasy-drama The Vvaan: Force of the Forrest had a 40 per cent increase in collections on the second day of its release. The film, directed by Panchayat creator Deepak Kumar Mishra, opened at Rs 8 crore on Friday. These numbers rose to Rs 11.25 crore on Saturday, as per Sacnilk.com. The total net domestic collection of the film now stands at Rs 19.25 crore.

The theatre occupancy for the film was highest in the Chennai at 70.3 per cent, followed by Bengaluru at 56.5 per cent and Pune at 44.5 per cent.

The Vvaan stands at 12th position on the list of highest opening day collections so far.  Reportedly made on a budget of Rs 80 crores, the film also a disadvantage of stiff competition next week when Drishyam: The Conclusion arrives in theatres.

Directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra, and jointly produced by TVF, Balaji Telefilms and 11:11 Entertainment, The Vvaan also features prominent names like Sunil Grover, Anup Soni, Maniesh Paul, and Shweta Tiwari in the ensemble cast. 

CE’s review for the film read: “There’s something so off about the tonality of almost everything in this film — be it the delivery, plot devices or the staging — that it feels deliberately parodic. For TVF, which made a parody video about Ekta Kapoor’s daily soap phenomenon, it’s a moment of full circle — the joke is now on them.”
