Ever since his ingenious rendition of Aamir Khan on The Great Indian Kapil Show, Sunil Grover has been getting plenty of appreciation for his impersonation skills. Aamir himself expressed his admiration for Sunil's act in a recent conversation with Bollywood Hungama. Aamir said that he did not find it a case of mere impersonation but rather it felt like watching himself onscreen. Sunil's act comes in a recent episode of the show featuring Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday as guests. The actor-comedian perfectly captured Aamir's mannerisms, dressing style, and way of talking, so much so it had the guests and the audience in splits.
Interestingly, this is not the first time Sunil Grover has impersonated Aamir Khan. In an earlier episode of the same show, the actor-comedian did it right in front of Aamir himself, eliciting big laughs from the superstar. Interestingly, the connection between the two go way back. Audiences of a certain vintage would remember the scene in 2008's Ghajini where Aamir's character Sanjay Singhania teaches Sunil's Sampath how to act like him. Eventually, Sampath's attempt fails to impress Asin's Kalpana, forcing her to choose Aamir's character to 'impersonate' himself.
At one point in the scene, Sampath tells Sanjay, "Do not teach me how to act," a line that hits differently after all these years. Netizens say that it is as if he knew how to do it all along.
The scene from Ghajini has been trending online, now that Sunil has successfully pulled off his Aamir impersonation. Ever since his act on Kapil's eponymous show, the scene has been going viral on social media and its view count has been increasing on YouTube. Many netizens humorously say that Sunil has perfected the act after years of practice.
