Apart from the teaser and a song release for the film, Salman Khan headliner Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace has been in cold storage. The Apporva Lakhia directorial, which was initially named Battle of Galwan, was touted to be based on the India-China clash in 2020. Previous reports had stated that given the Indian government’s relationship with China, the film had been stuck in a limbo.

Some reports had also stated that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) is stalling the release of the film. Following that, the film’s production house Salman Khan Films had put up an official statement on social media, clarifying that the news about the film's CBFC certification process being stalled is completely false and baseless. The statement also said that the film has not yet been sent to the CBFC.

Now a PR handout being shared by the makers has revealed that the film is currently being readied and is yet to be screened for the censor board.

The PR note read, “Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace is almost ready. Just a few portions of the VFX are still in process, and the film is going to offer an absolutely spectacular theatrical experience like never before.”

“As soon as all the relevant departments, including the CBFC, have watched the film, the makers will announce the release date. As of now, the censor board has not seen the film. Further updates will follow once the film reaches its final stage ahead of its public release,” it added.

The film also stars Chitrangda Singh, amongst others.
