On Saturday, ZEE5 unveiled the official trailer of its upcoming OTT series Brown, which marks a major comeback for Karisma Kapoor in a leading role after many years. Directed by Abhinay Deo, the crime-thriller is set to premiere on ZEE5 on June 5. 

Set in Kolkata, Brown tells the story of Rita Brown (Karisma), a disgraced cop with a haunting past and buried guilt, who is assigned a high-profile murder case. As she hunts down the killer in association with her junior Arjun Sinha (Surya Sharma), Rita realises that there is more to the surface than meets the eye. 

Produced by Umesh Kumar Bansal, Brown also has in the lead cast actors like Jisshu Sengupta, Soni Razdan, Helen Khan, Paresh Pahuja, Ajinkya Deo, and Aryann Bhowmik.

The writing team includes Diggi Sissodia, Sunayana Kumari, and Mayukh Gosh. Meanwhile, Suri Gopalan is credited under ‘development.’ The technical team includes Amogh Deshpande as the cinematographer, editor Huzefa Lokhandwala, and production designer Shiuli Thukral, who also doubles up as creative producer. 

Abhinay Deo, known for directing Delhi Belly and 24, last directed Blackmail (2018). Karisma was last seen in the crime-caper Murder Mubarak (2024), which starred Vijay Varma and Sara Ali Khan in the lead.
