At a recent event celebrating the films of director David Dhawan, his son Varun Dhawan recalled a funny observation about his father following his repeated collaboration with Salman Khan. The latter was also present at the event.
As per a report in News18, Varun revealed how spending too much time with Salman can change a person.
“When you work with Salman Khan, you also change. Somewhere you start feeling that you are Salman Khan! I remember my father walking bare-bodied a lot. There was another level of confidence in him,” said Varun.
David also spoke about working with Salman. "What a guy to work with!" The filmmaker revealed that his first impressions of Salman during the making of Judwaa were not entirely accurate. According to David, Salman often appeared quiet and reserved on set, which initially led to a misunderstanding. He recalled, "I used to feel he's disinterested. But I was mistaken. He was quite interested. But it took me a while to realise,” he said.
"I used to sit with him in the evening and have drinks with him. At times, I used to wake him up and take him for the shoot! I used to open the cupboard and even take out his outfit,” David added.
While the event focused on past successes, both David Dhawan and Salman Khan are currently occupied with major upcoming projects. David Dhawan is gearing up for the release of 'Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai', featuring Varun Dhawan in the lead. Meanwhile, Salman Khan is preparing for his war drama Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace. The project is being directed by Apoorva Lakhia.
