The officially trailer of upcoming Varun Dhawan starrer Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai was unveiled on Saturday. Directed by David Dhawan, the comedy entertainer also stars Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde in the lead cast.
The trailer reveals a rather wacky storyline — the protagonist (Varun Dhawan), in his desperate bid to be father at the soonest, wants to get legally separated from his wife Bani (Mrunal Thakur), and embarks on a new relationship with another young woman Preet (Pooja Hegde). However, much to his surprise, both his wife and girlfriend announce their pregnancy at once, while also landing up at the same hotel at the same time. How the aspiring father figure now manages the expectations of two women at once, while also keeping them away from each other forms the crux of the story.
The comedy also features Mouni Roy who plays the hero’s fake mother. The ensemble cast includes Rakesh Bedi, Maniesh Paul and Chunkey Pandey.
Yunus Sajawal has penned the story and screenplay, while dialogues are by Farhad Samji. In the technical team, the film has Ayananka Bose as the cinematographer, and Ritesh Soni as the editor. Ramesh Taurani is the producer for the film, backing the film under Tips Films.
The trailer was earlier scheduled for a grand launch on Thursday, before being cancelled due to technical reasons.
Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai is also currently mired in controversy due to an ongoing legal battle between the makers and eminent producer Vashu Bhagnani who sued the team for allegedly using the songs from his film without due music rights or permission.
At the box office, the comedy-entertainer will clash against the Bobby Deol starrer Bandar, which is directed by Anurag Kashyap.
