While Dhurandhar 2 has largely received praise from all quarters, there have been a few critics of the film within industry as well. At the time of Dhurandhar’s (2025) release, Hrithik Roshan expressed his disagreement while praising the cinematic craft. Now, during a recent appearance on a podcast, Dia Mirza reflected on the Ranveer Singh -starrer's success, while also recalling the criticism received by IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack, a series directed by Anubhav Sinha which she headlined back in 2024. 

During her appearance on the Namrata Zakaria show, reflecting on the criticism received by IC 814, Dia said, “It was called out for being human and humanising all characters, including the terrorists. I guess it is because we are celebrating jingoism too much now. We adore it"

Further commenting on the trend, Dia added, "There is a trend to enjoy and celebrate jingoism, which our show was not about. I don’t regret it. It has such a balanced view and gives people the opportunity to see each side the way it was."

Also talking about the importance of being politically vocal as an artist, Dia stated, "It's not easy at all. There are all kinds of intimidations, if you are not toeing the line or not being silent or in agreement with the larger forces. So yes, I have a political stand and I will convey that through the choices that I make and stories I tell."

Dia Mirza completes 25 years in the industry this year. Her upcoming films include Ikka, which also star Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna in the lead cast. She was last seen in Kaafir (2025), sharing screen with Mohit Raina.
