It has been three years since Gulshan Devaiah and Saiyami Kher's critically acclaimed film 8 A.M. Metro released in theatres, but continues to remain in discussion on social media. When a user appreciated the film and its actors, urging people to watch the film, Gulshan Devaiah expressed his happiness and explained how the film continues to give them "endless love" even when it "hasn’t made any money or "won any awards."
Taking to his X handle, Gulshan wrote, "8 A.M. Metro hasn’t made us any money, won any awards, made to any top ratings lists etc… but it’s a film that keeps on giving us endless love (since 2023) & it’s the kind of love that’s incomparable to anything we’ve ever done. I’m saying this on behalf of my wonderful co-actor Saiyami Kher & the maker of this film Raj R. Some stories connect in ways that we can never ever predict."
He further noted how the drama film "keeps finding an audience" through the years. "It’s a marathon runner among films," he remarked, while adding, "It also shows that if you make something with sincerity, it will find its audience. Thank you!! Long live Cinema!! & see you at the movies."
Written and directed by Raj Rachakonda, 8 A.M. Metro tells the story of two strangers who travel in the metro each day and develop an unlikely connection. It is based on the Telugu novel Andamina Jeevitam by Malladi Venkata Krishna Murthy.
The film had music by Mark K Robin, and features songs written by Kausar Munir. Jubin Nautiyal, Jonita Gandhi, Javed Ali, Vishal Mishra, and the Nooran Sisters had sung songs for the film while lyricist Gulzar contributed six of his poems to 8 AM Metro.
Interestingly, Gulshan and Saiyami had already worked together in Unpaused (2020) series, and recently shared screen space in a soulful romantic music video titled 'Aise Na Humko', composed by lyricist-composer Swanand Kirkire.
