After Welcome to the Jungle had register a mammoth figure on its first weekend at the box office, all eyes were on the Monday test when the film’s perception among audience would become crystal clear. On Monday, however, the film lived upto the trade expectations.

WTTJ collected Rs 8.5 crore (nett) at the domestic box office, registering 65 percent drop from its Sunday figures of 24.75 crores, according to Sacnilk. While the drop percentage is on the higher side, it must be noted that WTTJ had previously registered a 60 percent jump from Friday to Saturday itself. The film has performed equally well in main centres like Mumbai, Delhi, and Ahmebadad, showing over 20 percent occupancy. However, footfalls in key centres like Pune and Bengaluru were slightly on the lower side, ranging between 15 to 19 percent. The domestic nett figure for WTTJ currently stands at Rs 72 crore.

On Monday, the film also crossed 20 crore figure in the overseas territories, With its earnings of Rs 3 crore (gross),. The film’s worldwide collections currently stand at Rs 106 core.

Reportedly made on a budget of Rs 125 crores (notwithstanding Akshay Kumar's payment model where he has reportedly opted for a backend profit-sharing arrangement instead of charging an upfront acting fee), the film is likely to have a steady run for the next few weeks, landing somewhere 200-250 crore nett figures in India. 

Directed by Ahmed Khan, WTTJ features many prominent names like Arshad Warsi, Raveena Tandon, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Lara Dutta, Shreyas Talpade, Suniel Shetty, Kiku Sharda, Jackie Shroff, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Aftab Shivdasani, and Tusshar Kapoor in the ensemble cast. 

In our review for the film, we noted, “Welcome To The Jungle is a ludicrous, hodgepodge of events which works only when the actors and the audience are in on the absurd. However, it is fun to see Akshay Kumar get down his saviour high-horse and improvise some funny bits.”
