Prime Minister Narendra Modi seems to be a fan of the TVF series Panchayat. He recently shared a video, via his official Instagram account, meeting the show’s actors Durgesh Kumar (known for playing Bhushan aka ‘Banrakas’) and Ashok Pathak (known for playing Binod).

The PM met Durgesh and Ashok on the sidelines of the Republic Summit on Tuesday. In the video, he can be seen shaking hands with the actors. He even jokingly asks them, “Panchayat sunta hain ki nahi? (Do you guys also listen to Panchayat?).” Also seen in the video is actor Ram Charan and his wife Upasana Konidela.

Binod se kuch baatein," (Some conversations with Binod) read the caption.

Bhushan and Binod are the breakout characters from the Panchayat. Though they started as supporting antagonists in the village of Phulera, their comic timing have made them fan-favorites.

An alumnus of the National School of Drama (NSD), Durgesh found his breakthrough with Imtiaz Ali's Highway in 2014. He has since appeared in films such as Sultan (2016), Sanju (2018), Dhadak (2018), and Bhakshak (2024). Meanwhile, Ashok has appeared in several Bollywood films including Bittoo Boss (2012), Shanghai (2012), 102 Not Out (2018), and A Death in the Gunj (2016). Panchayat proved to be his breakout role.
