Two days ahead of the film’s release, the makers of Cocktail 2 released their new single ‘Bandhu 2.0,’ a remix of the iconic ‘Tumhi Ho Bandhu’ from Cocktail (2012). The Homi Adjania directorial stars Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead cast.
The song video features the three leads taking self-aware potshots at themselves for attempting a remake of such a popular song and fearing of being trolled. At the same time, ‘Bandhu 2.0’ is a much peppier and distinctively more dance-based in its composition and beats, with interludes that are clearly targeted for club-going crowd. The music video too is shot on a set, in a sharp contrast to the original that was shot on live locations.
Kavita Seth and Neeraj Sridhar have sung the new version as well, while the composition is by Pritam. Irshad Kamil has penned the lyrics. Jaani master has choreographed the song video, while costumes are by Anaita Shroff Adjania. Santhana Krishnan Ravichandran is the cinematographer.
Previously, the makers released three singles from their film — 'Mashooka', 'Vallah', 'Jab Talak', and 'Tujhko' — most of which have received great love from music lovers.
Produced By Dinesh Vijan, Luv Ranjan, Pramita R Vijan and Ankur Garg, Cocktail 2 is set for a massive theatrical release on June 19.
