Akshay Kumar’s previous theatrical release Bhooth Bangla, recently had its OTT premiere on June 12. To mark the occasion, filmmaker Farah Khan sat down with Akshay Kumar and other members of Bhooth Bangla team — including Priyadarshan, Paresh Rawal, and Rajpal Yadav — for a casual interview. During the same, the Om Shanti Om filmmaker recalled how Akshay Kumar created problems for her during the shoot of their 2010 film Tees Maar Khan.
During the chat, Farah said, “We were shooting for Tees Maar Khan in Malshej Ghat. The call time was 8 am. Everyone stayed there because it was about a two-and-a-half-hour drive from Mumbai. But Akshay would go home every evening after pack-up and return by 7:45 the next morning.”
After Akshay confirmed that he would travel by helicopter everyday, Farah added, “For the first time in my life, I saw an actor treat a helicopter like a taxi. But to his credit, he was always on time.” In his defence, Akshay reminded everyone that he was also the producer for Tees Maar Khan, alongside Farah. To which Farah light-heartedly accused him of taking away all her money, adding, “Mere saare paise khaa gaya.”
During the interview, Farah Khan also spoke up about how the backlash she received for the film affected her on a personal level. Released in December 2010, Tees Maar Khan did not live up to the box office expectations. However, the film has acquired a cult status of sorts over the past 16 years. Besides Akshay, the wacky comedy also starred Katrina Kaif and Akshaye Khanna in the lead cast.
Meanwhile, Akshay is gearing up for his next release Welcome To The Jungle which arrives on June 26.
